Our comprehensive glossary helps you answer technical and general questions about our products.

CANON BC 01 ink cartridge

These ink cartridges are required for the Intelligent Endorser Barcode for SCAMAX® H04.

An ink cartridge is used to enable the endorser to print its characters.

If it is not possible to render the ink cartridge usable, an ink cartridge cleaning device (ICC) should be used.

Cleaning kit

Scanners must be cleaned regularly to guarantee their function. We recommend using our cleaning kit to ensure that you are always using the correct detergents. When individual components are used up, you can reorder them at any time.

colerase

The col eraseTM colour filter generator can be used to generate filters for the mixed colour filter to achieve very specific effects. When colours disturb the function of an OCR or ICR, it is possible to fade out exactly these colours by using this software. This can improve the performance of an OCR/ICR process. Another well-known application is to fade out coloured "received on" stamps.

Color Calibration Program

The CCP calibration function serves to keep the colour values of an image generated with the scanner within a standardised RGB range. This results in a certain amount of colour-fastness. Naturally, this is only relevant when the output devices (screen, printer) have been set to colour calibration.

The CCP calibration does not offer full colour calibration, as the calibration values are not transmitted together with the colour image.

To make use of this function, the scanner must first be colour-calibrated via the InoTec CCP in combination with an IT8 card and its associated reference file. During this process, the scanner is loaded with a colour calibration table.

Consumables kit

Mechanical stress on individual scanner parts may lead to wear and tear in a few places. The paper-drawing belts and the friction linings of the retaining rollers must be cleaned at intervals depending on the frequency with which the scanner is used, and must ultimately be exchanged if the degree of wear and tear is too high.

To ensure that replacements do not occur too frequently and that the cost of ownership does not increase too much, engineers at InoTec GmbH have made use of a readjustment facility that balances the wear and tear of the above-mentioned feeder parts. This greatly extends the service life of the belts and friction linings. The consumables set contains various paper-drawing belts and friction linings for the retention rollers. This offers the option of using different materials for particularly difficult documents.
