Whether hardware or software, whether scanner or scanning client: our products are 100 percent Made in Germany.
We design and manufacture them exclusively at our company headquarters in Wölfersheim – many of them starting from the raw materials. We procure parts and components that we do not produce within our corporate group from certified suppliers via inner-European supply chains. Thus high-precision quality devices emerge in the best possible German engineering tradition. Or as we say: Production Scanners Made in Germany. Our high level of vertical integration thereby enables us to maintain consistent quality control in all stages of production.
Quality development must precede the quality product: this is also carried out exclusively at our company headquarters in Wölfersheim. Whereby we not only concentrate here on superlative performance, robust design free of wearing parts or holding maintenance expenses to a minimum;
as innovation leader in the branch we optimize the service life of our scanners by means of intelligent development.
How about an example? All the scanners of the SCAMAX® family can be upgraded at any time on site. Thus they simply confront increasing scanning volume with still greater scanning power. This lends them the highest flexibility. And ultimate investment security. Another smart idea of the InoTec development engineers.
If a company purchases a production scanner, it has enormous amounts of documents to cope with. And if it has enormous amounts of documents to cope with, it cannot afford to sustain longer downtimes. We therefore make sure that, if the case should arise, you receive competent help in the shortest possible time: be it on the phone or on site at your company.
We not only operate with helpdesks or external hotlines. With our support system, you actually talk to our technicians, developers or to our development management. And thanks to our location in the heart of Germany and Europe and to our inner-European supply chains, either one of our employees or an appropriate spare part quickly arrives at your site, as required.
Our medium-sized company was founded in 1992; for nearly 30 years now we have been holding our own against international corporations and setting first-class products against supposedly more reasonably priced mass-produced goods.

InoTec’s development, design, manufacturing, marketing and service have all been certified since 2005 by ISO 9001. This means that the processes and work sequences we have elaborated are suited not only to guarantee the quality of our products and services, but also to continually refine and develop them further in terms of an ongoing improvement process. Our certified risk management enables us to quickly identify and cope with possible risks.
For all quality-relevant activities, this guarantees for you on the one hand, that both those responsible as well as the methods of procedure are unequivocally defined. And on the other hand, that our employees truly live quality orientation on a daily basis.
Firmly anchored in our canon of values are our aims of handling our planet with care, conserving its resources and elaborating our production processes and services in a sustainable manner: that is why our scanners fulfill the EPA ENERGY STAR standards. Our environmental management has been continuously certified by ISO 14001 since 2014. That means that we are aware of our ecological footprint and are constantly working on reducing it.
To do so, we are continually fine-tuning our parameters: we produce in Germany, adhering to the strictest environmental protection regulations. We procure raw materials by means of the shortest possible delivery routes. We construct our scanners so that they are energy-efficient, long-lasting and free of wearing parts to the greatest possible extent. And we develop smart upgrade and refurbishing concepts to additionally lengthen the service life of our scanners.
The company bmd GmbH supports businesses with first-class DMS and ECM solutions. Among our main strengths are document management and scanning services from the scanning of incoming mail to the digitalization of paper-based archives consisting of the documents of several thousand ring binders. We have been using SCAMAX® scanners for these tasks for over 10 years. The sturdy and reliable scanners are excellently suited to continuous usage and achieve superb scanning quality even when processing very heterogeneous original documents. We maintain a trusting partnership with InoTec in which we particularly appreciate the good service, the fast reaction times and the competent engineers.
With Germany’s largest media database, we inform our customers about the advertising activities of their competitors. Up to 2,000 new print motifs are added daily. Efficient document capture in high image quality is thus of central importance to us. Before acquiring two new high-performance scanners we analyzed the overall operating costs in detail. At first glance, the SCAMAX® scanners appeared to be more expensive, but solely because of their automatic, highly functional edge detection capacity they save us over 70 hours working time per month. That represents a cost advantage of over 10,000 euros per year. And whereas a rival product required 1,800 euros per year for wearing parts, the parts for the SCAMAX® scanner amounted to merely 200 euros. Besides, the latter delivered twice the resolution of its predecessor for the identical scanning time.
In order to establish a universal information infrastructure with fast access and to save on archiving costs, we had decided to convert to digital patient records. In the future, approximately 16,000 new records were to land in the DMS daily, among which were to be very thin note pages, X-rays, CT images and ECG recordings up to 60 cm in length. The scanning systems initially employed were not able to manage this task in day-to-day routine. Feed-in faults and downtimes of up to two days occurred repeatedly. Consequently the central archive installed a SCAMAX® scanner. Its purchase price lay above that of the previous device but its total costs below. The two SCAMAX® scanners that we now have in the central archive accomplish the same amount of work as the four former devices of a different manufacturer.
Our customer – a leading Italian DMS service provider – specializes in digitalization projects in the health sector, particularly in the digitalization of health insurance prescriptions. Every day it records more than 200,000 pages in color, in the sizes A5 and A4. A large number of downstream text recognition processes thereby requires outstanding image quality. The heart of our digitalization solution for this customer are four SCAMAX® scanners, that have already been able to prove their performance and efficiency impressively: even after five years of use with twelve hours of running time daily and over 50 million pages captured per scanner, the devices keep running and running and running. Their total cost of ownership is without doubt among the lowest in their device range.
We modernized our scanner infrastructure several years ago in order to increase the efficiency of processing of our incoming mail and to significantly reduce the manual work involved. We acquired the necessary high-performance scanners from the company InoTec GmbH Organisationssysteme. […] Our new, multi-stage process of handling our incoming mail, which besides scanning letter mail coordinates the receipt of faxes by the central fax server, the conversion of incoming mail in image formats and the subsequent transfer of all three types of mail entry to the new OCR sub-system, has proven itself in practice to be highly efficient.
